Grand Adventure

Our adventure begins with a drive out through local villages to the outer temple of Banteay Srei.  This temple is famous for the pink hue of the sandstone and the incredibly intricate carvings, we arrive early to avoid the bulk of the crowds, providing the best opportunity to view the beautiful carvings.   From here we journey further afield to Kbal Spean, the River of 1000 Lingas found on the south west slopes of the Kulen range.   We take the 30-40 min trek through the jungle learning about the stories and history of this incredible site.  Your guide will share their knowledge of the carvings  found in the riverbed of this incredible 11th century Angkorian site.

Situated at the trail head is the Angkor Centre for Conservation and Bio Diversity, home to some of Cambodia’s most vulnerable rescued wild life. Our guide will share information on both the incredible wild life and the rescuers efforts to educate local communities and prevent poaching.

We wind our way back to the outer temples on the Grand Circuit with visits to some of the very best, including East Mebon and Ta Som.  Our final stop for the day is a visit to Preah Kahn temple, one of our favourites and a perfect spot to wander through the incredible ruins.

What to Wear

The sandy soil on the steps of the temples can create quite a slip hazard.  We strongly suggest you wear sturdy footwear.  Many parts of the temple areas are exposed, please wear protective clothing, hat and sunscreen.

  • Strict Dress Codes are applied when visiting Angkor Wat - access to upper levels will not be granted if shoulders or knees are exposed.  You must cover up with clothing items - a scarf or sarong will not be accepted.

  • Cambodian culture is conservative and revealing clothing is not appropriate for the temples.  Please be respectful of Cambodia's culture and avoid wearing anything too revealing.
