Angkor Discovery - Full Day Guided Tour
The Khmer Empire created the largest religious monumnet ever built when they constructed the amazing Angkor Wat and along with it hundreds of other small monuments and large temples. Our Angkor Discovery tour brings to life the history of the Khmer Empire and provides an insight into an amazing civilisation.
This tour includes the amazing Angkor Wat, but also takes in the many temples located within the ancient city of Angkor Thom. Experience the incredible Bayon adorded with smiling stone faces, the incredible terrace of the Leper King and Elephant Terrace and many other incredible sites.
What to Wear
The sandy soil on the steps of the temples can create quite a slip hazard. We strongly suggest you wear sturdy footwear. Many parts of the temple areas are exposed, please wear protective clothing, hat and sunscreen.
- Revealing clothing is not appopriate for the temples. Please be respectful and avoid wearing anything too revealing.
- At certain times access to the top of Angkor Wat is available. To access the top of Angkor you must be wearing clothing that covers both your knees and shoulders and no plunging neck lines.

World Heritage Listed Temples
The amazing temples of Angkor were constructed to express the wealth and power of the Khmer Empire at the time’. Many stone inscriptions and stele describing the foundation of the temple have been found but Khmers left no word to tell how this great empire collapsed.
Come and dig out some secrets of Angkor with our experienced guide, reveal the stories and legends behind the sandstone carved bas-reliefs, gables and lintels. Stroll around this massive monument to admire the Khmer architectural masterpiece and engineering.
We take a lovely walk to a quiet spot and enjoy a shaded picnic lunch. Toilet facilities are available.
In the afternoon our tour enters the ancient walled city of Angkor Thom It is believed that the ‘Great city of Angkor Thom may have supported a considerable population as high as one million people at its peak.
Via the southern gate of Angkor Thom, we then journey through the jungle to the famous Bayon which is now everyone’s favorite site. Surrounded by hundred of smiling faces in stone, the temple is definitely stunning and mysterious.
We head further into the temple complex visiting Baphoun, a pyramid-temple mountain consecrated to God Shiva, Elephant and leper king terraces, the royal temple of Phimean Naga and the serene Preah Pithu groups of smaller temples.
