Book 2 people on Day in a Life
Email us the code word 'TREE'
and 2 trees will be planted for a village family

There is little that compares to cycling though a village to enable interaction with local people. Photo opportunities abound and it's the small things you see along the way that make this such a special trip. Local barbers cutting hair in traditonal barber shop chairs or basic wooden stools in wooden shanties, women frying food to sell, children practicing their skills fishing in the rivers. There are plenty of great things to see along the way.
What to Wear
General Information
Cambodia is warm throughout the year. The coolest months are Dec, Jan and Feb with it becoming increasingly hotter from March through to May. In rainy season the afternoon storms create further fantastic sights, kids swarm to the puddles and everything comes alive. If the worst happens and we get caught out, the good news is you dry off very quickly. Please be aware you need to keep hydrated no matter what time of year it is. Sun protection is also a must.
Please do not hand things out to children in the villages. Hand outs, gifts and money contibute to the begging cycle, create jealousy issues and can cause problems. If you would like to know ways to help please speak with your guide.
When most people think of Siem Reap, they think of the Angkor Wat temple complex. While the majestic temples are the highlight of any trip to Cambodia, Siem Reap has much more to offer to those who are willing to spend a little more time and explore beyond the glory of the temples.
Siem Reap is also a great place for adventurous cyclists to explore. Traveling at such a gentle speed allows for much more interaction with the locals. Although bicycles are common in Cambodian villages, cycling tourists are still very much a novelty and will be warmly welcomed in small villages.
7am
After your relaxing breakfast at your hotel meet up at “Beyond” and have a 15 minute basic Khmer language course so you can communicate with the locals. Cycle along the red soil paved roads through some of Cambodian traditional villages where farming is the main source of income. This is a great chance to learn the village life, culture, traditions and beliefs. This also includes a visit to an active pagoda and ancient temple that has been suggested to be Angkor Wat’s prototype because of the way it looks.
Return to your hotel around 11.30am
