Itinerary
This itinerary is based on a later arrival into Phnom Penh and the trip concludes in Siem Reap. Should you arrive earlier we will happily discuss options for this day and alter your itinerary accordingly. We are very happy to help with any onward travel arrangements if required.
Day One (1st night in PP)
Arrival into Phnom Penh
| You will be met at Phnom Penh’s international airport by your tour guide and transported to your hotel. Your guide will provide an introduction to Phnom Penh. The rest of the evening is free for your leisure. | |

Day 2 – History of Cambodia

| 9.00am | We spend our first full day in Phnom Penh exploring the past. We journey to the Genocide Museum and Killing Fields where a local guide will provide insight into Cambodia’s tragic and dark history. |
| Tuol Sleng was a former high school that was used as the notorious S21 prison during the Khmer Rouge regime. In August 1975 the school was transformed into a prison and torture centre. It is estimated that over 17,000 people lost their life at Tuol Sleng.
The Killing Fields are located around 15km outside of the city centre and is the place many of those detained at S21 were taken to be killed and buried. Please note these visits can be very difficult for some people. Some of the displays are quite graphic and not suitable for young children. |

| 12.00 approx | Street 240 At lunch time we head back into Phnom Penh city to visit boutique street – Street 240. This is a great strip to wander and explore the many small boutique shops offering unique fashion, jewelry and home wares. |
| 2.30pm | Museum The National Museum houses over 14,000 artifacts from Pre Historic times to both before and after the Khmer Empire. This is a wonderful place to gain a grounding in the history of the Khmer Empire. |
| Market Tour The markets of Phnom Penh offer everything from the typical tourist souvenirs through to beautiful and fragrant spices. Day Three – Explore Phnom Penh & Travel to Siem Reap

| 10.00am | Trip to the Russian Market. This large market is a great spot to pick up some bargains. With everything from clothing, local wares, silk and carvings there is something for everyone. It’s busy, frenetic and hot so we recommend a limited visit. |

| 2.00pm | Bus to Siem Reap |
| You need to be at the bus stop in advance of the departure time. We recommend arriving no later than 15-20mins prior to departure. Buses have a toilet and provide drinking water. Estimated arrival into Siem Reap – 6.30- 7.00pm You will be met at the bus stop and transferred by tuk tuk to your hotel for check in. |
Day Four–
The Temples of Angkor – Angkor Discovery Tour

Explore the incredible Angkor Wat. The World Heritage listed Angkor Wat is the jewel of the Khmer Empire. Built over 900 years ago it is still the largest religious monument ever built. A guided tour through the incredible complex will bring Angkor to life. Student will learn about how the incredible temple was built, the people who lived around it and the stories of the god and demons that adorn its walls. *** HOT TIP Pack some bananas and feed the elephants at Bayon temple. This is great for the children and the elephants love it. Please advise your driver early so he can ensure you don’t miss the elephants. |

| 2.00pm | Head back to the temples and explore the amazing city of Angkor Thom. We enter Angkor Thom through the south gate guarded by angels and demons. The city is surrounded by walls and five separate gates. Within the city is the amazing Bayon temple adorned with smiling faces, the Terrace of the Leper King and Elephant Terrace. We explore all of these sites allowing students to learn more about Cambodia’s interesting history. |

Day Five June 19th – Experience the real Cambodia
(2nd day of temple pass)
| 5.00am Optional: | If you would also like you can incorporate a sunrise trip – Please not this will cost an additional $5. We recommend sunrise outside Angkor Wat. |
| 6.30am | Ta Prohm Temple – Experience the magical Ta Prohm temple without the crowds. Ta Prohm is overrun with massive trees, their roots intertwined with the temple stones almost as if they are frozen in battle. |

| 10.00am | Village Walking Tour – This trip will be a private guided tour of a local Cambodian Village. This is a great way to learn about life in Cambodia and witness a real village going about its daily routines. The walking tour takes you through the village, past stilt homes, rice fields a school and Pagoda. 50% of the tour cost from this trip goes to a program to help the villagers. |

| 2.00pm | National Silk Centre. This is a really interesting trip and loved by children and adults. The silk centre is located 16km from Siem Reap and shows the entire process of silk making from the silk worms right through to weaving on the looms. The tour here is free and while you do end up in the gift shop there is no pressure to purchase anything. |
| 4.30pm | On the way back head back into the Angkor Park and experience sunset at the temples. |

Day Six– June 20th –Tonle Sap and Temples
(3rd and final day of your temple pass)
| 9.00am | Head out to the floating village. This is a great opportunity to see homes on stilts and floating homes on the lake system. The total trip will take around 2-3 hours depending on how long you wish to stay out on the lake. |
| Lunch | Picnic lunch to take to the temples (included) Recommend enjoying this at the quiet Funeral Gate. |
| Afternoon | Return to the temples and explore the beautiful Preah Kahn and Ta Som temples along with some other great sights. There are plenty of other temples to see. We are happy to make recommendations for this afternoon. |

Day Seven Departure
We provide return transfers from your hotel back to Siem Reap International Airport.
Please note for international departures you need to be at the airport 2 hours ahead of your departure time.
Details of Inclusions
Bus Trip
This package includes 2 adult tickets for the 2pm bus service from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. Please note this trip takes around 5.5 hours.
Dinner and Dance show
We have included two tickets for a Khmer Dinner and Dance show. This is performed at a venue that caters for large groups. Please note should you prefer a more intimate experience there are several options in town. The additional cost is $15 per person.
Dress Codes
Please keep in mind that Asia holds different cultural values. While strict dress codes only apply in a few places it is worthwhile keeping your attire in mind. As a general rule covering shoulder and avoiding overly revealing clothing is appreciated.
Dress Code Angkor Wat
For visits to Angkor Wat there are dress codes that must be met if you wish to access the top levels (Shoulders and Knees must be covered / no plunging necklines). Even if you do not wish to enter the top of Angkor we ask you to please keep in mind Cambodia’s culture and dress respectfully.
Dress Code Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda Phnom Penh
Shoulders and knees must be covered to enter these places.
Dress Code – Active Pagodas
Please keep your shoulders and knees covered. Please also be aware you should never touch a monk.
Entrance Fees
All admission fees to museums, killing fields etc are included within this package price for attractions listed in the itinerary. This does not include temple passes.
Guide Services
You package includes the services of a local English speaking guide for all days of your itinerary. Surcharges will apply for languages other than English. Should you wish to extend the services of your guide, for example additional sunrise departures, or additional days surcharges will apply.
Insurance
We do not provide insurance. All guests are responsible for ensuring they have adequate travel insurance.
Meals
Breakfast is included daily for each of the hotel options
Day 4 - A Khmer style lunch is included.
Day 4 - Dinner is provided by the Khmer Dance performance venue. Buffet style
Day 6 - A picnic lunch is provided for you to take to the temples.
National Silk Centre
Your package includes a trip to the national silk centre. This is located 16km from Siem Reap. At the centre you receive a free guided tour of the silk making process. This trip does end in the gift shop but there is no pressure to buy. This is enjoyed by young and old visitors alike.
Pricing and Payment
All rates are quoted in USD unless otherwise stated. No bookings can be made until your deposit is received. Deposits are non refundable.
Temple Passes
This package requires you to purchase a three day temple pass. Temple passes come in one day $40, 3 day $40 or 7 days passes $60 per person.
Children under 12 years are free- but a passport will be required for proof of age.
The Temple pass is NOT included in the price. Please note temple passes are the same as cash. If they are lost or damaged you will need to purchase a new one.
Beng Melea temple requires a separate temple pass. Please note should you visit this temple you will need to purchase this pass. As at Aug 2010 this is $5 per person.
Tonle Sap
You package includes a guided trip on the Tonle Sap lake. Your experience of this village will vary according to the time of year. Whether it’s wet or dry the village provides amazing opportunities for photography.
Your package includes return transfers to and from the airport, boat or bus station. This package is based on arrival into Phnom Penh and departure from Siem Reap.

Transport
Your package includes transport in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh by tuk tuk. Transport from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap is via bus. It is also possible to fly from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap - this takes around 40 mins. Pleas ask us for current pricing for this should you wish to upgrade.
Tours Manager
Your tours manager is responsible for ensuring you have an amazing time during your trip to Siem Reap. They will meet you at the airport and ensure you have the opportunity to run through your itinerary and ask any questions. They are available throughout your stay to help resolve any problems that arise or help tailor your trip to better suit you needs.
Visas & Taxes
You are responsible for ensuring you have visas and for paying any entry or exit taxes to enter or depart the country.
Village Tour
Included is a guided walking tour through a local village. 50% of the tour fee goes to a fund to help the local village. Please ensure that you do not hand out gifts, lollies, or money within the village. Well meaning gifts can create jealousy and help contribute to the begging cycle. If you wish to help please discuss this with our team.
